Hello There!
Welcome to my official page
Thank you for checking out my site!
I guess, since you decided to pay me a visit,
it is only appropriate that I tell you a little
about myself.
For starters, I am a from the deepest of the Deep
South: Alabama. I was born and bred in the land
where football is a religion to some, refusal to
say "Yes Ma'am" and "No Ma'am" to your elders, and
"Please" and "Excuse" me will label you as rude, and
McDonalds sells cheese grits.
I have just completed the query process and secured
an agent! (Whew!). After seventy query letters and many
partial and full request, I am finally represented by
a wonderful and attentive agent, Sharon Belcastro with
The Belcastro Agency.
Approaching thirty is embraced by some, but it frightened
me. I'm not there yet, but at twenty-nine, my clock is now ticking.
I am not afraid of getting older--ok maybe I am--, but my anxiety
surfaced because I felt as if I haven't done everything I ever
wanted to do before that milestone birthday.
Well, a couple of months ago,
I decided to venture on a journey that terminated years ago.
I grew up an only child, so I
was always doing things to occupy my time.
One of the talents that I developed was the gift of storytelling.
I would begin writing a novel, and never complete it.
I guess I never had
the patience, and the thought of completing two to three-hundred
pages overwhelmed me. I was well-prepared. I worked an
after school job at a local Taco Bell and would use
my paychecks to purchase nonfiction on the craft of publishing.
I even bought "Writer's Market." By the age of eighteen, I knew
how to query agents.
Despite all of my acquired knowledge, I still allowed my dream
to lie dormant for many years. Now that my thirtieth birthday is approaching,
I am satisfied. I have written my first novel!
